Education & Training - BIFD Tutors
The British Institute of Funeral Directors is responsible for the registration, training and examination of tutors who wish to prepare students for the Certificate in Funeral Service and the Diploma in Funeral Service, and organises regular courses for its tutors to enable them to keep up to date with current practice.
In order to become a Registered Tutor of the Institute it is necessary to complete a course of study and be successful in an examination set by a panel of examiners consisting of experienced tutors and qualified members of the teaching profession.
In addition Registered Tutors are required to attend at least one teaching seminar every two years.
A Tutor List is published each year, in town/area alphabetical order, to assist students seeking tuition for the Certificate or Diploma in Funeral Service. Each Tutor may set their own schedule of learning and fees.
